Neda
The Neda is a river in the Peloponnese, located on the border of the prefectures of Ilia and Messinia. It rises from Mount Lykaio, flows westward and empties into the Ionian Sea, between the coasts of Kyparissia and Zacharo. Its length is 32 kilometers. The river was named after the nymph Neda. Since ancient times, the river defined the borders of Ilia from Messinia, as mentioned by Pausanias. Near the banks of the river were ancient Figaleia and the temple of Apollo Epicurius in Bassae. The river crosses a ravine with very rich vegetation for a large part of its length. Waterfalls are created along its course. The largest is located near Figaleia and is approximately 35 meters high.

Arini
The Arini Gorge, approximately 3 kilometers long, is located near the settlement of Spilia, 2 kilometers from Arini. The morphology of the terrain is such that the Kombori hill almost touches the opposite Spilia hill and the two seem to be tightly embraced. From this construction that nature created, a deep, almost impassable gorge was formed in ancient times, probably during the geological period, which reminds the visitor of the admirable Samaria gorge. Through this narrow gorge pass the waters of the Anigros River, which originates from Mount Minthi and flows into the Ionian Sea. From the great heavy rains in the past and the abundant rushing waters of the river, the Geraneia lake was formed at that point, of relative dimensions and depth, in which the young women of the village had previously baptized it and a swimming school, because it was there that they took their first lessons and the first baptism of the swimmer. They named it Geraneia, because its waters were dark blue like the Geraneia mountains of Corinth. However, Geraneia is still an admirable creation of nature and is worth visiting.
